I know this place, I know this town

(By the way, you get extra brownie points for correctly naming which film my lj cut quote is from.)

So sweet_crayons and I have been Twilight fans for a while (that kind of died around the same time the Breaking Dawn spoilers were leaked, but that's another story), but Harry Potter has always been superior. When WB and Summit anounced that they were releasing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Twilight, respectively, at the end of 2008...well, you can imagine the amount of excitement and general fangirling that ensued. But when WB suddenly decided to be mercurial stupid practical and release their big blockbuster next year, leaving November 12 wide open to be snatched up by Summit faster than Mrs. Norris fetching Filch when a student misbehaves, we were the definition of indignant. One of us - and I'm not going to definitely say which one, cause I'm sure to get it wrong - came up with the idea to puffy-paint some shirt with things like "Harry doesn't need to sparkle", "Team Harry", etc.

I ended up changing my mind for my T-shirt theme. It just made more sense to me to make a shirt proclaiming my loyalty to Robin McKinley's infinitely superb vampire romance Sunshine. (For more information, clickety click.) 

Here is the finished product, with a couple of quotes to explain.


In case you can't make it out, the text says: "Sunshine: brighter than twilight". Beneath it is an oak tree (as a ward against vampires, and also to symbolize Sunshine's tree-self), with a swirly gold sun above it on the right. That green thing under it is a six-pointed star inside a circle, and the gold thing on the left is a semi-fancy cross with a green "gem" in the middle.


The text, from top to bottom: "TEAM CONSTANTINE" "He's not a tame vampire..." "...fight-or-flight, help-we're-prey-and-HEY-STUPID-THAT'S-A-VAMPIRE..." "'What's you're favorite fairy tale?' 'Beauty and the Beast.'" On the top left is the perfect triangle, and on the top right is the sun and moon. That little red-and-bit-of-silver thing that you see is my little attempt at the staked heart.
